During the course SDR 2015-16, the themes Image and Space have been dedicated to analyze through photography and video three neighborhoods of Barcelona, Plus Ultra, Vallcarca and Trinitat Nova. These urban areas have been chosen within the framework of the Prohabit project to verify the impact that the urban transformations have had on their inhabitants.

In addition, the UMVA project has been developed for 5 years in the space theme, a collaborative project developed by the School of Architecture La Salle and the Loop Festival with the aim of using video as a tool to document how people use space. The artists Mireia Sallarès, Claudio Zulian and Miquel Garcia have guided the students in carrying out their work.

El tema espai es dedica a analitzar les transformacions de tres barris perifèrics de la ciutat de Barcelona: Trinitat Nova, Bon Pastor i Plus Ultra. Els alumnes de la assignatura de Sistemas de representació de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura La Salle-URL han participat aportant els seus treballs en la cuarta edició de la UMVA projecte 2015 (la Unidad Móvil de Vídeo Arquitectura).

Los alumnos del curso de Sistemas de representación de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura La Salle-URL han participado en la cuarta edición de la UMVA proyecto 2015 (la Unidad Móvil de Vídeo Arquitectura) en colaboración con el Screen Festival. En su cuarta edición los alumnos han analizado las transformaciones de tres barrios periféricos de la ciudad de Barcelona, Trinitat Nova, Bon Pastor y Plus Ultra.

Tres artistas colaboraron en la docencia junto con los profesores de la asignatura SDR: Pau Faus, Miquel García, y Domènec. Paus Faus se encargó del grupo responsable de analizar el barrio de Trinitat Nova, Miquel García tutorizó el grupo que investigó el Barrio Plus Ultra y Domènec fue responsable del grupo que estudió el barrio del Bon Pastor.Cada grupo se organizó en subgrupos de trabajo para recoger información sobre los barrios.El proceso de producción de los vídeos fue de 6 semanas distribuidas en tres etapas; documentar (análisis de los barrios), planificar (taller con los aritstas) y producir vídeo.

Esta edición de la UMVA se desarrolló en paralelo al proyecto de investigación PROHABIT “Análisis multidisciplinar del entorno habitado para promover la aplicación del derecho a la ciudad”, co-financiado por Recercaixa, que llevan a cabo conjuntamente los grupos de investigación ARC Enginyeria i Arquitectura La Salle, Universitat Ramon Llull, y PsicoSAO, del Departamento de Psicología Social de la Universitat de Barcelona.

Students of the course of Systems of representation of the Technical School of Architecture La Salle-URL participate in the third edition of the project UMVA 2014 (In Spanish, Unidad Móvil de Video Arquitectura. In English, Mobile Unit of Video Architecture) that is in collaboration with the Screen Festival. The objective of UMVA is to carry out an interdisciplinary and a participatory analysis of the public space, through the production of videos that examine and reflect the uses and meanings that inhabitants give to the spaces they live in.

In its third edition, UMVA focuses its activities in the Neighbourhood of El Raval. For developing the videos, students counts on the orientation and supervision of artists like Pau Faus and Miquel García. Furthermore, students contacted representatives of various neighbourhood entities with the goal of knowing the value and meaning that different collectives- neighbours and people of other parts of the city, tourists, immigrants, traders- give to the space they live in.

UMVA is finalizing next 29 of May and during the 5 weeks that the project lasts, informative activities; involving cultural entities, associations and civic and educational centers of El Raval; will be organized with the purpose of promoting a collective reflection about the public space.​​
