In the theme FIGURE of the course Systems of Representation I of the second year of Architecture, an activity that relates music with visual arts, is given. The objective of this activity encompasses the relationships between visual and musical composition for utilizing them in the process of creation of the shape.

Both compositions- the musical and the visual- have a form that can be featured by the same attributes: rhythm, color, and symmetry, for example. When we perceive these shapes, we use the same words for describing what we see and hear. In this way, we talk about the tone of a color or of a musical note, and of a group of colors and sounds in a painting or in a piece of music.
